Michael Essien, former Ghanaian football star, has reportedly reached an agreement to become the new assistant coach of Ghana’s Senior National Soccer Team, the Black Stars.
After Coach Chris Hughton’s dismissal following Ghana’s disappointing performance at the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, where the team failed to advance from Group B with only two points from two games, the Black Stars of Ghana finds itself without a Head Coach.
The search for a permanent Coach for the Black Stars of Ghana is still on as Former Coach Otoo Addo according to reports gathered by Talksghana.com is said to be the leading man to take up the Black Stars job.
The new technical team for the Black Stars of Ghana will include Otoo Addo, alongside former Ghanaian international players Micheal Essien, Stephen Appiah, and Laryea Kingston, as per reports gathered by Talksghana.com
Even though the Ghana Football Association is yet to appoint a permanent Black Stars coach, Otoo Addo, and Micheal Essien are favorites to lead the Black Stars team.
Michael Essien has been a part of the FC Nordsjælland coaching team since September 9, 2020, while reported Head Coach Otoo Addo is currently serving as a trainer scout for the German club Borussia Dortmund.
