Stephen Appiah Donates to Akosombo Dam Spillage Victims
Almost four weeks into the Akosombo Dam Spillage which hit some communities in the Volta region including Mepe, Battor, Sogakope Mafi, Adidome, Ada, and others have been affected.
Many homes have been completely submerged due to the the controlled spillage of the Akosombo Dam by the Volta River Authority as a result of Heavy Rains that have increased the volume of the water in the Dam.
In the quest to restore livelihood to over 30,000 affected victims in all 8 districts so far, former Captain for the Black Stars of Ghana, Stephen Appiah in collaboration with the Wembley Sports Complex has extended a helping hand to the affected person involved in the Akosombo Dam Spillage.
The former Ghana captain donated relief items, mattresses, food including others that could sustain the lives of affected persons. Member of Parliament for the North Tongu District, Honorable Okudzeto Ablakwa showered praises on Stephen Appiah for this kind gesture towards affected persons.

During his playing days Stephen Appiah in 1997 was named SWAG Most Promising Football Star of the Year. He won the Ghana Footballer of the Year Award in 2005 and 2007 and was also adjudged Footballer of the Year in Turkey in 2007.
