Black Meteors head coach Ibrahim Tanko has stressed that, the main ambition of his technical team is to secure qualification to 2023 Olympic games.
The cruised to the third round of the 2023 U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers following an emphatic win over Mozambique.
The Black Meteors completed defeated their African counterparts back to back amassing a 4-1 aggregate scoreline in both legs.
Coach Tanko side won 2-1 in the first leg played in Maputo and returned to Ghana at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to inflict on them a 2-0 emphatic win.
Ghana will now face DR Congo in final round for the ticket for the 2023 U23 AFCON tournament in Morocco.
Speaking after the game, Tanko Ibrahim revealed their main target is to qualify for the Olympic Games though they have sights set on the AFCON.
“Every player who is playing outside the country and is a Ghanaian qualifies for this team why not.”
“We want what is best for the country. It is not only about the local players but the foreign players. We just want to have a very good side both foreign and local. There is going to be a mix and hope we qualify for the AFCON.”
“We have Fatawu Issahaku, Felix Afena-Gyan, Kamaldeen Sulemana and they all qualify for this team. Those who played in the Ghana U20 are also there”.
“We are waiting for any opponent and we just prepare ourselves”
