Ghana Football Association dismisses Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton following the team’s exit from the 2023 African Cup of Nations.
After serving as a technical advisor during Ghana’s World Cup qualifiers in March 2022, 65-year-old Hughton officially assumed the coaching role for the Black Stars in February 2023 following Otoo Addo’s resignation.
In February 2023, Hughton, aged 65, transitioned to the coaching role for the Black Stars, officially taking over after Otoo Addo’s resignation, having previously served as a technical advisor during Ghana’s World Cup qualifiers in March 2022.
Following his 21-month contract signing with the Ghana National Team, Chris Hughton secured five wins and two draws in his initial eight matches as the team’s head coach.
The Executive Council has decided to dissolve the technical team of the Black Stars. In the upcoming days, the Ghana Football Association will unveil a roadmap outlining the future direction for the national team.
