The Black Stars of Ghana will participate in the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations Tournament to be hosted in Ivory Coast. With a blend of seasoned players and arising talents, the team radiates hope and belief, aspiring to clinch the coveted AFCON title.
Ghana will play its first game of the tournament in the group stages when they face the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde on Sunday, January 14th 2024. The Black Stars second group game will be against the Pharaohs of Egypt before taking on Mozambique in the Final Group Stage game.
Ahead of the tournament, the Black Stars of Ghana were held to a goalless draw by the Brave Warriors of Namibia in a Pre-AFCON friendly game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
After the Game, Black Stars Head coach Chris Hughton believes his side stand a chance of winning the AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast.
Chris Hughton: ” I don’t want to be head coach of a team that doesn’t think they have a chance of winning it.”
