Joseph Larweh Attamah (born 22 May 1994) is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Turkish club Kayserispor on loan from İstanbul Başakşehir. The Ghanaian defender has expressed his displeasure concerning call up to the Black Stars of Ghana.
Joseph Larweh Attamah says he always gets late call up to the Black Stars and have not been given enough time to prove himself. He also explained that he was given a late call up to the Black Stars for the Japan game but declined because he was not fully fit.
“That was in 2017. I have played in that position before and it wasn’t a difficult position for me but on the field of play, something happened in which I thought if my teammate was a little bit faster to cover the issue, I don’t think it would have been a problem for me,” the former Tema Youth defender told TV3.
“Since then, things have been difficult for me. Whenever I get a call-up, I come but I don’t get the playing time. It was like when I come they do not give me the chance. The only time I would get the chance to play is when we had a friendly game but when it comes to the qualifiers, I don’t play.”
“Yeah [I want to work with Otto Addo]. If he calls me today, I will go if I’m fit. For now, I’m not fit. They just called me for the Japan game but I wasn’t fit because of my knee injury. The funny thing is it’s always a late call-up [for me]. They call a player and he doesn’t come and then they end up calling me late. I’m always calm about it.” as quoted by football ghana.
Joseph Larweh currently plays as a defender for Turkish club Kayserispor on loan from İstanbul Başakşehir.
