UDS SRC PRESIDENT PETITIONED FOR ABUSE OF POWER AND CORRUPTION

Student Representative Council President of the University for Development Student Tamale Campus Lukman Mohammed risks being impeached after just 3 months of being in force.

It has been alleged that the SRC President has abused his powers by taking decisions in his own interest and not in the interest of students and also not approved by the General Assembly. He is also being accused on grounds of corruption

The hearing is set to take place on Sunday, March 7th at 10 am. The Petition was filed by the lead counsel of the Petitioner, Mr. Safwan Yiah on March 1, 2020.

According to the SRC Constitution, the hearing should take place within 7 days.

If the ruling goes in favor of the Petitioner, Mr. Iddi Mohammed Faried, it will mean that for the first time in the history of the school, an SRC President has been challenged by his appointee and also the first SRC President to be impeached.

The SRC President, Mr. Lukman Mohammed has agreed to meet the Judiciary board to settle this issue.
