US-based Ghanaian social media commentator and activist Twene Jonas has ordered Rapper Michael Owusu Addo known in showbiz circles as Sarkodie to compose a song to criticize the Akuffo Addo led administration as he did during former President John Mahama’s government.
The ‘Highest’ rapper dropped the songs in 2015 and 2016 respectively to address economic hardship and corruption in Ghana under the John Mahama led NDC administration.
In a video that emerged on social media, Twene Jonas gave Sarkodie a month ultimatum to compose a song to criticize President Akuffo Addo.:
“I’m giving you just to drop a song to Akuffo Addo telling him the country is under fire.
If you don’t it, I’ll come after you. Do the same as you did for Mahama in 2015.
“Use your fame wisely” Do the same for Bawumia as well”
Twene went on to say, “I don’t want Sarkodie and.the other musicians to be like Bobokala.”
A section of claims has it that Sarkodie’s affiliation with the Akufo-Addo administration has prevented him from highlighting the plight of citizens now through his music.
However the rapper has denied that saying he is not under pressure to compose songs that criticizes government.
