Arsenal and Black Stars deputy captain Thomas Partey has expressed his joy over the ongoing GFA attempts to convince foreign-born players to switch allegiance and play for the Black Stars.
The Ghana Football Association over the recent weeks have made several attempts for foreign nationals such as Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, Brighton fullback Tariq Lamptey, Bilbao duo the William brothers and Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah to switch nationality and join the Black Stars for the upcoming FIFA World Cup sceduled in Qatar.
Recent reports indicates, talks have progressed well and we could as well see majority of the mentioned above players switch allegiance to Ghana.
Arsenal star midfielder Thomas Partey has said it would be wonderful to get these players and the team is ready to welcome these foreign nationals.
“Everybody choses what’s best for their career, you can’t push somebody to do something that they are willingly ready to do, If they consider joining the team they are welcomed because we really need them.
“We need all the best players we can get into the team, everyone is ready to play for Ghana and make the country proud. We need them and we are very much happy to receive whoever is ready to play for Ghana” He said in an interaction with Joy Sports.
Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey has reportedly switched allegiance to Ghana is available for selection for the next AFCON qualifying games and World Cup preparation friendlies.
Thomas Partey currently is out injured and missed the Black Stars double AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Central African Republic last week.
