There were earlier reports that the Ghana card will be a key factor during registration of players ahead of the 2022/23 season but General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association [GFA], Prosper Harrison Addo, has come out in an interview to give full clarification on the use of the Ghana card.
Prosper Harrison Addo has said the earlier commumicated decision will not be in effect this coming season because various teams hav informed the GFA that some players have not gotten access to the Ghana card.
“Yes, initially we had communicated to all clubs that the Ghana card will be solely used for player registration before the league commences,” he told Starr Sports.
“But we had to put it on hold because most of the people involved in this exercise don’t have their cards ready to use for the whole exercise,” he added as quoted by football Ghana.
The Ghana Football Association recently announced a headline sponsor with BetPawa as the official sponsor for the Ghana Premier league in a deal worth 6 million dollars.
