Asante Kotoko ace, Fabio Gama has urged Ghanaian referees to protect the players during games in the Ghana Premier league.
The 28-year-old attacking midfielder who has been one of the standout performers in this season’s Ghana Premier League, since joining the Porcupine Warriors at the start of the season, says attacking players like himself cannot avoid had tackles o the pitch.
“This is what we do in the trainings. The coaches tell us to go and press…because if you press in the trainings, in the match it will be easy for you to leave the pressure.
“But we are players and we are prepared for the pressure, but sometimes they hit you too much and we can’t avoid it, so we play we have to be ready for everything,” he bemoaned.
However, the Brazilian says he does not receive the referees’ protection on the pitch.
“Yes sometimes we have to complain because the referees have to protect the players and sometimes we can’t see that on the pitch so I think the referees have to think about it and protect the players inside the pitch,” he said.
Fabio Gama has scored twice and assisted the same number in 4 games for Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League this season.
