Registration for the 2021 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination has been opened officially, the National Teaching Council (NTC) has announced.
Qualified teachers who are interested in writing this examination can purchase a registration voucher at any branch of the Ghana Commercial Bank Limited and Prudential Bank Limited nationwide.
According to the National Teaching Council, prospective candidates have until Wednesday, April 14, 2021 to apply.
The Ghana Teachers Licensure Examination enables qualified teachers to acquire professional license, thereby preparing them to meet the demands of the National Teachers Standards of possessing the minimum knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes necessary to deliver effectively in schools.
Candidates who completed in 2020 or before qualify to write the examination at a center of their choice.
Those who hold Diploma in Basic Education, Bachelor of Education or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education, among others, and are seeking to be employed as professional teachers are eligible to apply.
Meanwhile, candidates who have already written the examination but were unsuccessful in some papers are allowed to register to re-sir.
Registration Fees
New or fresh candidates are required to pay GHC 280.00 to register while re-sit candidates are to pay GHC 150.00 for one resit paper.
Those re-sitting two papers and three papers are to pay GHC 250.00 and GHC 280.00, respectively, and they should take Pin and Serial Number from the bank after payment.
Registration process
Candidates are required to log onto exams.ntc.gov.gh to begin their registration process.
They are required to enter their Pins and Serial Numbers and follow necessary processes to register.
Examination Date
The National Teaching Council has set May 6 and May 7, 2021 to conduct the 2021 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination across the country.
The NTC is mandated by the Education Regulatory Bodies Act 2020 (ACT 1023) to improve professional standing and status of teachers.
The Council also ensures licensing and registration of teachers in Ghana.
