Junior brother of Black Stars legend Sulley Ali Muntari, Muniru Sulley has officially quit professional football at age of 29 after an illustrious career.
Former Ghanaian midfielder Muniru Sulley announced his retirement from football to kickstart a career in sports agency management.
Muniru, who has been unattached since July, took to his official Instagram account to announce his decision to quit active football.
The combactive midfielder was once taunted to be his senior brother Sulley Ali Muntari’s successor at the Black Stars of Ghana following his exploits at CFR Cluj, Steanua Bucharest (now FCSB) in the Romanian top-tier league.
Muniru had a boisterous career in Europe with stints in Bulgaria, Finland, Romania, Turkey and Portugal.
Muniru played for Steanua Bucharest in 2017 and was sacked by the club after fighting his teammate Florin Tanase.
He later joined Tondela in the topflight of Portugal before joining Yeni Malatayspor in Turkey.
Muniru also signed a one year deal with Dinamo Minsk in Bulgaria and Tambov in Finland.
The midfield dynamo made stunning return to the Ghana Premier League as he signed with record-title holders, Asante Kotoko during the 2020/21 season but his contract was mutually terminated as he left offshores.
He had his last stint at Belarusian Premier League side FC Minsk where he scored two goals in 21 appearances.
Muniru has now set up a Sports Agency Management called 4FK Agency which has already commenced operations with Mubarak Wakaso and Salim Romeo of Karela United
