Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu was in action as AS Monaco recorded a 2-1 victory over Rennais in the French Ligue 1.
Salisu joined Monaco at the start of the 2023/24 season from English Premier League side Southampton who were relegated to the English Championship last season.
The Ghanaian has been unable to play since joining his new club due to a groin injury he suffered with his former Club Southampton. The 24-year-old finally made his appearance for the French club.
Salisu lasted for 90 minutes, made 58 touches, completed 40/49 passes, won 2 tackles and made 2 clearances. He also received a yellow card during the game. His club Monaco have now recorded back to back wins and currently sit second on the ligue 1 table with 36 points after 15 games.
The appearance yesterday means Mohammad Salisu is in line to play for the Black Stars of Ghana at the 2024 AFCON in Ivory Coast.
