Bechem United head coach Kassim Ocansey has told the Black Stars technical team to give more minutes to the local players who have been invited into the national team.
The highly rated gaffer made a claim that foreign-based players who didn’t get a good season offshores should make way for the local players are performing brilliantly week in week out.
“Local players who are invited into the national teams are called to make the numbers add up.They are not given minutes to showcase they deserve to play.
“Foreign players are mostly bench warmers in their teams abroad are rather prefered by the coaches.Such players should make way for the local boys, they play week in week out and perform fantastic”. Coach Kassim Ocansey said in an interview with Akoma FM.
Black Star head coach Otto Addo and his technical team officially named his 33-man squad today for the upcoming AFCON 2023 qualifiers.
Accra Hearts Of Oak forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and inform Bechem United winger Augustine Okrah were the only two local based players who made the list.
Ghana will begin their AFCON qualifier campaign with Madagascar on 1st June, 2022 before taking on Central African Republic in their second game four days after.
The Black Stars will also partake in a four way tournament scheduled to take place in Japan all part of preparations towards the World Cup.
