I’ve never created Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or any other social media accounts – Hon. Joseph Osei Owusu

The Member of Parliament for Bekwai and the first deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Joseph Osei Owusu has issued a disclaimer that, any social media account created in his name with his pictures is FAKE.

Information got to his attention when a student at the University of Ghana, who were following an Instagram account with the account name ‘’Joseph Osei Owusu’’, thinking that it is the MP, that the students knows, until the fraudster started chatting with the student, and promised the student to give a government scholarship protocol. The fraudster went ahead promised to offer a job after school, during the chatting, the person gave a contact number to call his secretary who is a male, and the secretary to the first deputy Speaker is not a male.

According to the MP, the only way people can reach him is by coming to his office at Parliament, Accra, and Office at Bekwai, WhatsApp, SMS, and via voice call. Apart from this, there is no other channel people can reach him. So people must be aware and unfollow those accounts and avoid fraudsters.

He advises the public that, he will never practice such acts, promising scholarship awards, offering people jobs,s and discussing government or parliamentary business on social media.

Anybody who is behind such an impersonation act must put a stop to it, else people would be prosecuted when he caught someone he added.
