The Captain of the senior National Football team of Ghana Andre Morgan Dede Ayew has come out to share his view on the 2010 world cup game against Uruguay.
Uruguay striker Luiz Suarez denied the Black Stars of Ghana a spot in the semifinals of the World Cup after he denied Ghana a clear goal scoring opportunity in the dying minutes of extra time. Uruguay then won the game after defeating Ghana in the Penalty Shootout.
“If i were in Suarez position I would have done same to save my country. He broke our hearts, he broke Africans heart” Andre Ayew said in an interview with the media.
Dede Ayew who plays his club football for Al Sadd in Qatar said again that he is looking forward to a good tournament and will do everything to help Ghana progress.
The Black Stars will again face Uruguay in the Group stages of this year’s FiFA World Cup in Qatar. Ghana is looking to seek revenge from the heartbreak they had in 2010.
The Black Stars have been drawn with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in the Group stages after defeating Nigeria in the Qualifiers.
