Shotstopper Danlad Ibrahim has penned a new contract extension with 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko.
The 19-year-old agreed a two year-deal with the Porcupine Warriors upon the expiry of his previous deal.
Danlad was a key figure in Asante Kotoko’s team last season after the departure of Razak Abalora who joined Moldovan giants Sheriff Tiraspol.
He kept 12 clean sheets in the Ghana Premier League and conceded 12 goals.
Ibrahim Danlad was close to leaving Asante Kotoko for Saudi Arabia after giants Al Hilal showed interest in the shotstopper.
The Saudi side failed to agree terms with Asante Kotoko and the transfer fell through.
Asante Kotoko are eager to keep all their stars for the upcoming season in a bid to retain their Premier League crown and leave a mark in Africa.
The 2022/23 betPawa Premier League season will kick start on the weekend of Friday, September 9 to Monday, September 12, 2022, across all nine league centers.
Kotoko will begin their title defence at the Baba Yara stadium where they host newly promoted side Nsoatreman FC.
