News reports that I was tired fighting the coronavirus are not true. I was misrepresented by the Journalist who carried that story.
This is the rebuttal of Health Minister designate, Kwaku Agyemang Manu to a questiom posed to him during his vetting in Parliament on stories carried by the media that quoted him to have said he was tired about fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to Mr Agyemang-Manu, the reporter misconstrued his comments because he spoke in the local dialect to his residents at Dormaa on the spread of Covid-19.
He said ” it is unfortunate that this has come up here but that was not what I meant . I was trying to tell people that they should have sympathy on those of us who are fighting the battle and listen to the admonitions we put into the public domain to adhere and comply with the protocols ,that was all. And a Journalist who may not have gone up to the level that he should have reported properly put this thing there”.
He added that ,” I confronted the man who did that ,that why did you misquote me in a language that my people wouldn’t easily understand me. I was talking to Dormaa people”.
