Black Stars and Brighton/Hove Albion fullback Tariq Lamptey has disclosed he developed to be a better footballer by playing football on the streets.
The 21 year-old speedster revealed he learnt the basics of football from his father and siblings as they trained together.
Tariq also stressed that he found it easy when he joined Chelsea Football Academy as he was familiar to the system already.
Speaking to GQ Sports, The Black Stars newbie said;
“I grew up playing football with my Dad and siblings on the streets and I learnt alot if basics from there.
“I found it so easy when I joined the Chelsea Academy, I was only taught the technical aspect of the game.
“Them systems helped me to develop significantly as a much better footballer. I’m a tenacious player, pacy and hardworking and that’s my style.
“I am not showy, I was not brought up that way. I like to keep my head down and let my feet do the work on the pitch” He concluded.
Tariq Lamptey recently earned his first cap for Ghana after switching allegiance from England to play for the Black Stars.
The dazzling fullback made his debut for Ghana in the 3-0 thrashing by the hands of five time World Cup winners Brazil in a friendly game.
