Accra Hearts Of Oak players and technical team will undergo medical tests today following the outbreak of a severe flu in the teams camp.
The intervention of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) issued a plea to the Ghana Football Association for Hearts Of Oak clash with Eleven Wonders to be postponed as they seek to determine the cause of the sickness.
The Ghana Health Service released a statement to confirm their preliminary investigations revealed the outbreak of an H3N2 virus, a type of Swine Flu and subsequently recommended a 7-day isolation for the affected players and staff.
Speaking to Citi News, Communications Director of the club Opare Addo said;
” The next test is on Friday morning at 10am, and after that, depending on the results, the Ghana Health Service will advise us on the next line of action.
“So we are patiently waiting for the tests results to know what’s indeed the main problem at hand” He said.
Before matchday 29 clash with Bibiani Gold Stars, some players of the Phobians were admitted at the hospital and were discharged ahead of the game at the Accra Sports Stadium. Hearts Of Oak defeated the Bibiani outfit courtesy of a penalty strike by defender Samuel Inkoom.
Hearts of Oak are 4th on the league table with 47 points after 29 round of matches in the ongoing league campaign.
