Ashanti Gold returned to winning ways after beating West Africa Football Academy 1-0 on matchday 7 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Seth Osei gave Ash Gold the lead  27 minutes into first half to give the miners their  third of the season at Sogakope.

WAFA Head Coach made one change to the line up as Eric Asamany  replaced Simpson.

The visitors made the first attempt to find the back of the net but the ball was headed out for a goal kick.

WAFA also came closer to open the scoring but was not clinical upfront.

Seth Osei was named NASCO man of the match.

The win puts Ash Gold 5th on the table with 11 points behind Dreams FC.

WAFA meanwhile stay in relegation zone with only 5 points on 17th position.

Ash Gold will host Aduana Stars on matchweek 8 while WAFA travel to Berekum Chelsea.
