Ghanaian Referee Daniel Nii Laryea has been selected by the Confederation Of African Football to officiate at the 2023 African Cup of Nations Tournament to be held in Ivory Coast.
The 36 year old began as a professional referee in the Ghanaian lower division league at the age of 17 in 2005. Since then, Daniel Laryea has served in various competitions both Domestically and Internationally.
Daniel Laryea will be officiating at his second consecutive AFCON tournament after serving in the previous edition held in Cameroon 2021. In January 2023, he served as the Assistant video assistant referee for the opening match for the competition between Algeria and Libya.
The official list released by CAF on December 21, 2023, features 26 center referees, 30 assistant referees, and 12 VAR officials selected for the AFCON competition.
The 2023 AFCON tournament kicks off on Saturday, 13 January when the hosts will take on Guinea-Bissau at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan.
