United Arab Emirates heavyweights Al-Ain are preparing a whopping $2 million bid for Ghana striker Kwame Opoku following his outstanding display for Algeria side USM Alger in the Algerian Ligue 1 according to SportsworldGhana.com
The 22-year-old striker sealed a four-and-half year deal from Ghana Premier League heavyweights Asante Kotoko to join USM Alger in April this year and has quickly established himself as a trusted striker for the club.
After only three months at the club, Opoku’s performances has seen him attract interest from clubs in France clubs with Al-Ain showing seriousness in signing the player as negotiations between the two parties have already commenced.
Asante Kotoko last week, reported USM Alger to FIFA over a delay in payment of the striker’s transfer fee of 500 000 Euros.
Opoku has started playing for his new club already but his former club is yet to be paid their money but the Algerian side is hoping to transfer Opoku to Al Ain soon to enable them to settle Asante Kotoko soon after the world’s football governing body officially wrote to them regarding the non-payment of the player’s transfer.
