FC Samartex ends Accra Hearts of Oak’s eight-game unbeaten streak with a 2-1 victory at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex in Week 23 of the Ghana Premier League
Evans Osei Wusu’s double strike in the 25th and 87th minutes secured a crucial victory for FC Sanartex against Accra Hearts of Oak, earning them all three points. With this performance, the 23-year-old forward has now netted four goals in just two matches for the Timber boys, following his previous brace against Dreams FC.
Hamza Issah reappeared in the Accra Heart of Oak squad following a month-long injury absence. Despite the 21-year-old scoring their sole goal in the 77th minute, it wasn’t sufficient to secure the team maximum points.
FC Samartex has maintained an impressive record, losing only one of their last 10 home games and currently leading the Ghana Premier League table with 42 points from 23 games. On the other hand, Accra Hearts of Oak suffered their first loss in the second round of the league following the appointment of new coach Abubakar Ouattarra.
