The Management of the Commonwealth Hall, University of Ghana is constructing two additional boreholes to help resolve the challenge of irregular water flow for residents.

The initiative comes at the back of complaints from residents of the hall pointing to irregular water flow.

Speaking to Radio Univers, Junior Common Room President of the Commonwealth Hall, Barnabas Mensah commented that the additional boreholes will help to produce a sufficient water flow to supply all residents and curtail any issues that could arise in the future as well.

“For some time now the students in this particular hall have been witnesses to the irregular flow of water in the hall. So, in order to curtail the problem we are going through now and also to curtail any future damage, we only had to come up with this construction to resolve the challenge,” Barnabas Mensah said.

He further indicated that the construction project is in its final execution stage and will soon be ready for use.

“Honestly the facilities are ready now, I mean the accessories are ready. What we are left to do… we need to extend the connection from the boreholes to the poly tanks. And then, possibly, we add some more reservoirs so that we can store enough of water,” he further specified.

Highlighting the immense benefit the project will bring to residents and users of the facilities, he urged residents to show responsibility in using the boreholes.
