The Central Regional capital Cape Coast has been approved to host the 2022 U-17 WAFU Zone B tournament.
The town which is well known for its fishing ports and historical sites was approved upon by the Management of WAFU to host this year’s tournament.
The tournament will kick start from Saturday June 11 to Friday June 24, 2022. Seven U-17 National teams including host Ghana, defending champions Cote D’Ivore, Giants Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Burkina Faso and Niger will all participate in the tournament.
The tournament will serve as a ticket to the 2023 African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Algeria.
The Black Starlets of Ghana will be seeking to redeem their lost image in their homeland after failing to perform in the previous tournament.
