The hopes of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League Champions were dashed as they were knocked out of this season’s Total Energies CAF Champions League following a 3-0 loss in their final Group stage match against CR Belouizdad, the Algerian Club.
The Tarkwa-based club managed to secure only 4 points out of a potential 18 after completing six games. Throughout these matches, they scored 3 goals and conceded 13 goals.
Al Ahly, the champions from Egypt, led the group with 12 points, while the Young African Sporting Club from Tanzania secured the runner-up spot with 8 points. Both teams have secured their places in the Quarter Final Stage of the competition, while CR Belouzidad and Medeama SC have been eliminated.
The Meuve and Yellow team will now turn attention to the Ghanaian league where they currently sit 8th position with 25 points after 17 games played.
