Legendary Ghana forward Dan Owusu on has also passed his comment on the lack of playing time for Black Stars Player Afriyie Barnieh.
Accra Hearts of Oak player Daniel Barnieh was given a call up to the Black Stars team for the friendly matches against Brazil and Nicaragua.
Barnieh unlike Afena Gyan was brought on just some few minutes to the end of the Nicaragua game. Ghanaians were not happy with the decision of Coach Otoo Addo saying he did not give Daniel Barnieh enough time to prove himself.
Former Ghana forward Dan Owusu in an interview has said Both Barnieh and Afena Gyan are not up to the national team level.
“Afriyie is doing well but I think this is not the time to play him at the Black Stars. He is very smallish and players like that normally struggle. To me, it is about being with the team for long and knowing the philosophy. Both Barnieh and Afena-Gyan are not up to the national team level. I think they should just understudy the senior players and I believe with time, they will get there.” He told Bryt FM.
