The Uganda Football Association has announced that the Senior National Football Team nicknamed the “Cranes” will engage in a friendly encounter against the Black Stars of Ghana in March.
As confirmed by the UFA, the friendly encounter will serve as a preparations ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. The game has been scheduled to take place on March 26th, 2024 at the Stade Grande Marrakech Stadium in Morocco.
The Cranes will again play against Comoros after the Black Stars game to intensify preparations as they hope to Qualify for the next FIFA World Cup in 2026.
However, the Black Stars of Ghana are without a head Coach after the Ghana Football Association sacked Head Coach Chris Hughton due to his poor performance at the just-ended 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
There are reports that the GFA has approached former Head Coach Otoo Addo to become the next Black Stars Coach but these rumors are yet to be confirmed.
Ghana will also use this friendly game to prepare for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic in June 2024.
