Cameroon and Ajax Amsterdam shot stopper Andre Onana has been handed a one year ban by the disciplinary body of UEFA for a doping violation.
The suspension takes place with immediately and applies to all football activities, both national and international.
The UEFA doping control officers conducted an “out of competition” check on 30 October 2020 where the goalkeeper found the substance Furosemide in his urine.
Onana has been one of the best goalkeepers in Europe and in Africa with his outstanding performances for Cameroon and Ajax.
The 24-year-old has been linked with moves to the Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Bundesliga amongst others.
A statement from his club reads, The disciplinary body of the European football association, UEFA, has imposed a suspension of 12 months on Andre Onana for a doping violation.
