The Confederation of African Football has come out with a decision to postpone the 2024 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers from September 2022 to March 2023.
This decision was taken by the executive committee of the Confederation of African Football to allow various African countries who have qualified for the 2022 FiFA World Cup get enough time to prepare towards the tournament.
“The postponement of the Cup of Nations offered an opportunity to reschedule the remaining qualifying matches,” a document addressed to the members of the executive committee of the CAFCAF.
“It also makes it possible to open the dates in September to international friendly matches for preparation for the World Cup.”
Ivory Coast are currently preparing the grounds yo host the African Cup of nations 2024.
