Hon. Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, Minister for Trade and industry on Friday, 15th October 2021 presented 200 bags and 2 Trips of 30 cubic gravels to Market women at Kumasi Race Course.
Mr. Benjamin Akowuah Acheampong who led a delegation of two women groups (Pearls and Queens for ALAN) together with other friends and sympathizers of Hon. Alan explained that the donation was in response to a request by Maame Kyeiwaa (Market Queen in charge of Race Course, Suame, and Bantama Markets) to Hon. Alan Kyeremanten during a Pre-birthday celebration held in his honor on 2nd October 2021 at Race Course by the two women groups.
Mr. Akowuah intimated that the Honorable Minister was very humbled by the show of love, support, and prayers for him on his birthday. He added that the Honorable minister was further touched by the muddy floor the market women ply their trade in especially during this rainy season and saw the need to honor their request as his contribution to making their stay in the market more comfortable.
The items were received in ecstasy by the Market Queen, Maame Kyeiwaa, and a delegation of Market leaders at the Race Course. Speaking on behalf of Maame Kyeiwaa and the market women was their Secretary, Maame Kaakyire Badu, who expressed their utmost gratitude to Hon. Alan Kyeremanten for responding to their request in less than one month and donating items beyond their expectations. She thanked the Honorable Minister and pledged their unflinching support for him in all his endeavors.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the two women groups, Josephine Obiri Yeboah and Afia Korankyewaa urged the market women to continue to pray for Hon. Alan and have faith in the NPP government.
