Kumasi Asante Kotoko may have given a strong indication that its CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah, is no longer an official of the club after a ruling by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association against Division One club, Phar Rangers.
Nana Yaw Amponsah’s eligibility to continue as Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko came under question after the GFA slapped a five-year ban slapped on Phar Rangers and its shareholders from partaking in football-related activities.
The Kotoko boss is the founder of the club and is believed to be among the shareholders of Phar Rangers.
Whilst Kotoko is yet to make an official statement on the matter, it may have dropped a hint of Mr. Amponsah’s exit in its latest post on social media, announcing the launch of a deal with top-flight English club, Southampton.
In the post, Nana Yaw Amponsah was surprisingly absent among the executives on the flier, raising questions, particularly after he featured in a similar post announcing the partnership between the two clubs in January 2021.
The latest post, announcing the launch of the deal, features the club’s Public Relations Officer, David Obeng Nyarko, and Emmanuel Dasoberi, who is the Administrative and Operations Manager of the club.
The Diaspora and International Relations Manager of the Club, Dentaa Amoateng was also on the flier.
