Asante Kotoko defeated rivals King Faisal Babies in a stunning 3-0 victory at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Kumasi derby.
King Faisal Babies hosted the Porcupine Warriors in an intensed matchday four encounter to determine who earns all bragging rights in Kumasi derby.
Asante Kotoko took the lead in just
eleven minutes into the game courtesy of a strike from Ugandan forward Steven Mukwala for his debut league goal.
The Porcupines doubled their lead on minute 28 from the spot kick through captain Richard Boadu after Mukwala was brought down in the penalty area by the King Faisal goalkeeper.
Kotoko’s dominance was confirmed early in the second half, as Mukwala again teed up Nicholas Mensah to score the third to put the contest out of reach.
The home side failed to get a consolation goal after numerous attempts at goal.
The win sends the defending champions to the fourth position with 7 points from four games while King Faisal sit on the 18th position with no point.
