Black Starlets coach Paa Kwesi Fabin has revealed that two weeks prior to the WAFU B U17 tournament, 20 out of 28 players failed the MRI tests conducted by CAF Officials ahead of their first game against Nigeria in the group opener at Cape Coast Stadium.
The Black Starlets lost 4-2 to Nigeria in the opening game of the tournament and coach Paa Kwesi Fabin has been the subject of backlashes from the public.
The former Aduana Stars coach claimed he has to build a new team in less than two weeks after he saw majority of his players disqualified after the MRI tests.
Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin said;
“I don’t like to make excuses but about three weeks to the tournament the FA President asked the CAF medical team to do an MRI of our boys so out of 28, 20 were disqualified so, so we had to use about 2 and half weeks to build this team, we lost but I believe we’ll come back stronger”.
The Black Starlets will look to bounce back to winning ways when they face Togo their second game on Friday 17th June, 2022 at the Cape Coast Stadium.
